Cast Iron Tiled Fronts
for solid fuel or Gazco living flame fires
Even if your house has a modern 22" high x 16" wide chimney
opening with a Milner tapered firebrick, you can still install a Victorian
tiled fireplace.

What you will need is a cast iron tiled front instead of an insert.
Stovax have subtly redesigned the outward-facing parts of the Victorian
and Art Nouveau inserts, so that they can be installed against a
chimney breast rather than inserted into it. |
Tiled fronts are available with the same choice of finish and hood
style as the inserts and, once in place, are virtually indistinguishable
from them. They can, like the inserts, be installed with Gazco coal
effect gas fires.
Solid fuel 16" Milner taper firegrates are supplied as an optional
extra.

deep-rebate surrounds

To maintain their authentic look, the tiles in Stovax cast iron
tiled fronts are positioned at a slight angle to the face of the
fireplace. This means that the cast iron front plate stands forward
of the chimney breast by 2 5/8" (67mm).
The resulting gap is neatly concealed by one of a range of specially
made wooden surrounds. Identical in all other respects to the
standard surrounds these have an extra deep "rebate",
i. e. the difference in depth between the inner and outer faces
of the uprights.
