Victorian Tiled Inserts
For solid fuel or Gazco living flame gas fires
Cast iron fireplaces incorporating two vertical ceramic tiled panels
became popular in the latter part of the 19th Century. The
Stovax Victorian tiled insert fireplace is based on an original design
dating from around 1885 and offers a choice of three decorative cast
hoods (also known as canopies): floral, classical and tiled. The floral
and classical designs are also available in solid polished brass.
Why Insert?
Insert fireplaces are so called because they have built-in firebacks
and are designed to be inserted into chimney openings measuring approximately
36" x 36" or larger. Stovax also offer cast iron tiled fireplace
fronts for installation with smaller openings and Milner tapered firebricks.
Gas fires
A living flame coal effect gas fire, specially made for the Stovax
Victorian tiled insert, is available from Gazco. Please review Gazco
Gas Fires or contact us for details
Tiles
All Stovax tiled fireplaces are supplied compete with your choice of
10 standard tiles at no extra cost. However, there is a supplementary
charge if hand-decorated tube-lined tiles are selected. Please ask The
Fire Place for details.
