This is the traditional and much loved method of generating a
fire within a fireplace. Real fires utilise "solid fuel", typically Coal, Coke,
Logs or Wood pellets. The Fuel material is burnt to produce the characteristic heat
and flames. Fuels may be varied and mixed in order to affect the fires characteristics
such as burn time, heat output and fire glow.
Real fires offer extra character as they burp, crackle and pop in
the throws of excitement. And as the flames die out and the hot coals glow, they offer a
subtle and comforting warmth and sensation.
